Organizational/Leader Assessment
Based on your research and analysis during the session, you will be able to identify
questionable,
problematic, and/or inefficient systems and processes related to organizational
communication within an
organization. You can choose the organization.
You can use the same organization from the Where I Work Communication Analysis
paper, but extend it to dive deeper into the organizational processes and culture to
identify, diagnose and assess problem areas.
In this 67-page paper, you will identify some of the major communication issues
organizations face and analyze them as a case study.
The format of this paper is:
1. Statement of the Problem(s)
Provide an overarching statement of the problem(s) that your selected organization is
experiencing.
Identify and explain the issues that have contributed to this problem. Why are they
important organizational communication problems? How have you seen evidence of the
problems (from experience and/or news reports and include scholarly research)?
2. Analysis of the problem(s)
Using course concepts, theories, and topics discuss the organizational factors that
contribute to the problem(s) you have identified. How do the problems impact structure,
relationships, leadership, work arrangements, etc.? What stakeholders are impacted
and in what ways? What have scholars and/or practitioners found to be potential
antecedents and/or indicators of the problem? In what ways have the problems already
been addressed and with what results? Include scholarly research.
3. Recommendation
Based on your analysis, recommend a specific course of action, explain why you have
made this decision, and use an organizational communication perspective to discuss
the potential implications of the proposed solution.
Submit this assignment in Word or pdf format, 6-7 pages (excluding cover and
reference pages), double-spaced, be sure to include a cover page and reference page
utilizing APA formatting.
