described in Dasani’s social environment. For example, if you noted that Dasani is underweight, you should explain how this factor may be a direct consequence of being impoverished. You may also note what Dasani may be at risk for developing in her life (physically/physiologically)
based on the environmental circumstances.

Documentary filmmaker Thomas Balmes charts the simultaneous early development of four infants from different parts of the world: San Francisco, Namibia, Mongolia and Tokyo.
In part, the film demonstrates the development of attachment. It also spotlights the influences of culture, environment, the psychological state of the parental figure, and the emotional state of the baby. Please pay careful attention to the interactions between each
parent/caretaker/sibling/animals and the infant.

David Hong, Psy.D., LP of the Washburn Center for Children discusses his use of traumafocused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in treating Mohammed, an 11 year old Kenyan boy who moved to the U.S. Mohammed had experienced multiple traumas in Kenya and in the U.S.
A. Please watch the video and provide a psychological assessment (using one theory reviewed in HBI) and also discuss risk and protective factors as they pertain to social environmental influences. How might current media and political debates re: immigrants and Islam impact Mohammed and his family? Support your discussion with scholarly articles and research.
