‘creativity’; the global movement of labour; precarity of labour; affective labour.

(Hardt, M & Negri, A) Analyse and evaluate the concept of ‘Empire’ alongside the
counterpart concept of ‘Multitude’ and their significance for understanding the current
state of ‘globalisation’.

3. “[S]ocial media have become coordinating tools for nearly all of the world’s political
movements, just as most of the world’s authoritarian governments (and, alarmingly,
an increasing number of democratic ones) are trying to limit access to it” (Clay
Shirky). Do you find this a convincing point of view?

4. Can we talk of a ‘software culture’? If so, what are its main features, themes and
characteristics?

5. Is there really a ‘dark side’ of the digital? In what ways might this be manifest and in
what ways a myth?

6. What is meant by the ‘posthuman’ and is this a useful concept to capture life in the
21st Century? Do you agree that we are increasingly becoming ‘posthuman’
subjects?
