You may submit your answers anytime before 11:59 pm CST on Monday, December 6, 2021.

2. What role did territorial expansion play in U.S. history between the American Revolution and the Civil War?

In a well-written, detailed essay of between 500 and 550 words, draw on assigned readings and lectures to answer one (1) of the following questions.

1. What was Reconstruction and why did it fail?

2. Why did some Americans come to oppose slavery before 1865 and what did they do to seek its abolition?
