For this assignment, students will pick any 2 types of logical fallacy, whether from the text or the website I shared. For each type (for example, Ad Hominem and the Either/Or fallacies), students will first find or create an example of the fallacy and then describe why it’s not logical.
For example: To show Ad Hominem, the student could find a video online of two politicians having a debate where one or both directs and ad hominem attack against the other. They could link the video or just describe it using quotes of the pertinent moments. Then they could describe, in a paragraph, why the attack isn’t a logical argument.
To show the Either/Or Fallacy, the student could create a scenario in which the fallacy is used (by describing a setting and showing dialogue). Then they could, in a paragraph, describe why the use of the fallacy isn’t logical.
Posts should be about 250-300 words.
