ECON3421 FINANCIAL PLANNING AND CONTROL (FPC):
So the exam for the FPC module, will follow the default 48 hour online format, i.e. there is NO restricted time window.
- The formal ‘Time Allowed’ for the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- Maximum word count is 3,500 words. Please note that a number, e.g. 2020, represents one word. The word count is an overall word count for the whole exam, i.e. you are not required to adhere to any specific word count limit for any individual sections or questions.
- You are required to answer any THREE questions from the SIX questions available. Each question and each part of a question is weighted equally unless otherwise stated.
- Questions 1, 2 and 3 are set from term 1 and Questions 4, 5 and 6 are from term 2.

- When answering calculation-based sections of questions, you should refer to relevant study materials, bearing in mind the management accounting models that we have dealt with during the year.
- When answering written sections of questions and essay questions, you should refer to relevant study materials. However, please note that you should NOT simply copy out these materials: take care to answer the specific question set, using your own words.
As the FPC exam includes questions which require calculations, you should write your answers on paper and then photograph or scan them. The University will provide guidance on how you will be able to use the photos/scans to make one file, which you will then be able to submit , similar to how you have submitted assignments and your dissertations.
