Firstly you must select a UK Listed Company from the mining or
pharmaceuticals or Tobacco sector of your choice and write a report to
address the following issues. Please note that you must use the same
company to answer Parts A, B and C.
PART A
You need to demonstrate that you understand how Corporate Governance operates
practically for your chosen company – in the context of the UK Corporate
Governance Code 2018.
You are required to discuss how specific corporate governance principles operate in
your chosen company. You must address the different requirements of the UK
governance code and show whether the company has complied with the
requirements of the code, or has provided explanations where there is no
compliance. (1000 words)
PART B
You need to demonstrate that you can write a short critical discussion about
the following Corporate Governance issue that is relevant to your chosen
company.
How has the board diversity of your chosen company changed over the last 5
years? How does this compare to other similar companies? These findings
need to be understood, critiqued and further analysed by the relevant
literature and current public debate (1,300 words).
PART C
You need to demonstrate that you can use Carroll’s Pyramid to analyse the company
that you have chosen.
Critically apply the Carroll’s pyramid to your chosen company with particular focus on
each tier to appraise your chosen company’s practices (1,200 Words).
