Question 1. Take one argument from the article and create a Toulmin model using the three major elements. Make sure you label the elements and explain the argument in such a way I understand how you have a claim, warrant, and data. I want to see a model for one argument the court is making.
Question 2. Explain the nature of the argument in terms of argument spheres, where is the functioning in terms of the private, public, and the technical. Explain the connection of each sphere of this set of arguments. One hint is that you might want to look up the Spheres of Argument article by Thomas Goodnight published in Argumentation and Advocacy, 2012.
Question 3. Provide a refutational response to one argument made in the editorial.
Make sure you label and use the six steps in refutation correctly, that primary focus of the grading will be on the correct use of the steps and the labeling, not the content of the argument.
Question 4. Using Chapter 4 of Zarefsky, please evaluate the overall nature of claim using the standards for evidence. Explain why some element of the argument made by the Krugman meets for fails to meet the standards for good evidence, make sure you identify the evidence.
Question 5. Use Zarefsky’s chapter on fallacies. Explain how any argument either
employs or rejects a fallacy of argument (label the fallacy). Why doe this work or
not in terms of meeting a standard of providing sufficient proof of an argument.
