Write your Classroom Observation Essay in narrative form. You may use the guidelines/questions/statements below to guide your writing.

DESCRIPTION OF VIDEO 1 (guiding ideas):
Overview of what this video is about. Include information about what you observed that you believe are related to what weve learned about culturally responsive approaches to learning. Also write what were the approaches that got them to write. What are some points that kids make about writing? Keep in mind some major concepts from the course that weve covered, e.g., funds of knowledge, culturally responsive teaching that you might have noticed. Refer to Bennett and how children from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds used to motivate and engage students in writing. Note the types of approaches that teachers may use to promote their motivation to write. Also note how they have kids use their own background or personal life for writing. Note examples to support your points. Note whether/how language and culture is valued by the teachers as you see them working with students. After you have written most of this, again think about two concepts from this course that are related to this topic.

Use the guiding questions and statements to write a 1-1/2 to 2 pages for three different teachers. You will be writing about the teachers craft and interaction with students. There should be about 4-6 pages in total for all three. You will follow the guidelines for each of the three.
Refer to one of the articles regarding culturally responsive teaching at least once in each of the essays.

Describe whether the classroom seems friendly, supportive and/or comfortable? What makes you think it is any/some/none of these? Explain how and why this is so.
What was the teacher trying to accomplish or teach? Explain. Provide examples of how teacher went about teaching?

(What were some of the strategies, approaches, methods, or ways of doing that you liked and maybe would employ?
