Often there are more than words or online imagery in your workspace—it might be children or pets or roommates or spouses. It might at times seem like you have information overload—as if you were standing in the middle of Times Square, New York, or Piccadilly
Circus, London. Even the most focused and dedicated student can be easily distracted.
Often when focusing on one task, you lose track of others. That is why it is important to
have a plan for stepping out of your other roles and into your new role as student. Don’t be tugged by online distractions—keep your place. Staying focused is a professional
competency.
You all have multiple roles in life, and maybe “student” is a new role for you. Being engaged in the work requires you to plan, prioritize and create a space where learning takes place; to combat a feeling of selfishness that you might feel.
For this Discussion you will consider how to address distractions you might encounter as a student at Walden.

Having distractions can become a serious problem for a lot of people in general it leads to making mistakes on things you are doing it also can cause errors or someone could easily get hurt if they get distracted by anything. I am a person that can become distracted very easily, and when this happens, I completely lose focus of what I was doing or I can’t find the spot I was at or working on at the time or I end up getting hurt in someway so one of my techniques that I do to keep distractions away is I will stay away from anyone or any music or sounds I will keep away from all of that or wear earplugs if I can not
be alone at that time also, another thing you can do is use headphones or make sure you go to an environment where there would be no distractions around you or somewhere you can easily tune things out if a distraction happens to occur. you also can make a schedule or to do list because jugging
multiple things can be stressful and also turn off your alerts or breakdown your work into smaller task and find the right place for you to do your work at and make sure you reward yourself when you’re
done or take breaks if you need to as many as possible goals.

Hi class,
Task that requires immediate attention are considered urgent. Likewise tasks that are
considered vital are considered next top priority on the agenda after the urgent
ones. Information that is vital can scanned by reading quickly and selecting the elements or phrase of words that pertains to the topic of focus. Digital Detox would be a
disconnection from electronic devices. this is a setback for me in technology due to
everything a person does in the wold today pertains to higher technology. A vital lesson
on learning resources. “Staying focused is a professional competency. “Be engage in one’swork requires a person to plan, prioritize and create a space where leaning takes place.”
