Instructions:

It is now time to watch our movie! Watch the required movie, Gung Ho. (1986) Directed by Ron Howard. Starring Michael Keaton, Gedde Watanabe, George Wendt, and Mimi Rogers. Paramount Pictures

After watching the movie, write a 2 part review following the directions below.

PART I:
In 1-2 pages, quickly recount the events in the movie “Gung Ho.”

PART II:
Then write an additional reviewing the personal and professional communication used in the movie “Gung Ho.” (NOTE: Your total paper length will be approx. 4-6 pages.) In your review section, answer and discuss the following by number (failure to number the responses will result in a loss of points):

1. Compare and contrast the two cultures as seen in opening of the movie. Give specific examples

2. Discuss at least two specific times (excluding those seen in the opening scenes) that culture had a primary impact on the interpersonal communication of the characters in the movie.

3. Describe how nonverbal communication was used effectively and ineffectively in the movie. Be specific.

4. Discuss examples of listening effective and ineffective listening by the characters in the movie.

5. Discuss the conflict management strategies employed by the movie characters in both their personal and professional communication.
