• You are the owner of a new start-up in the creative industries and has been
tasked with developing a business model for your business which falls into 1
of the 13 industries discussed in this module
• To enable you to launch your product/service you need to convince your bank
manager that your business is viable
• The bank manager has requested to see a business model that covers the
following 10 areas
– Customer segments; value proposition; channels; customer relationship; revenue
streams; key resources; key activities; key partnerships; cost structure and; sources of
competitive advantage
• Your task is to conduct your research and put a proposal together that will
convince your bank manager that your business model is a formula for
success!
• Structure
– Each presentation should be a maximum of 15 minutes
– You can have as many slides as you want, but I would
strongly recommend no more than 12
– 1

• State your company’s name and introduce the subsector for
your value proposition
– Each of the remaining 10 slides should cover one of the
ten components of the business model canvas
– Slide #12 should be a brief conclusion
