You have just started your graduate position job at the local branch of a large bicycle
manufacturer. A few days into your job your department manager asks you how
familiar you are with Accounting Information Systems (AIS), in particular, SAGE and
SAP. The department manager explains that the firm is considering purchasing one
of these two systems to trial at this branch before rolling out to the rest of the firm.
However, they need to understand what the individual strengths and weaknesses of
each system are in order to make the best decision.
As you have worked with both systems during your degree, they need your up to
date knowledge and research skills to contribute towards their decision. Therefore,
they have asked you to research these two programmes and write a report
addressing the following issues.
Your main experience has been working with the Sales Processes of the two
systems therefore your focus should be on how the systems differ in this respect.
1) Define (5 marks), explain (5 marks) and critically evaluate (10 marks) the
strengths and weaknesses of SAGE.
