Your company has the opportunity to invest in another country. You have been asked
to prepare a risk assessment of the project based on the below structure.
You are to 1) Identify a number of significant risks.
2) Explain the frequency and severity of each risk.
3) Explain how each risk could be managed most effectively.
Only discuss risks which you believe are material to the company’s decision. In your
conclusion you are also asked to recommend whether to invest or not based on your
prior discussion.
You have to chose a company and a country in which to invest. Please chose a real
(i.e. existing company). Use any of the major stock I dices to identify a large
company. You can make both these choices without any restrictions. You can treat the
company and the country as given (i.e. need to mention them but do not need to
justify them). In case the company you g=have chosen (as many of them do) operates
in several industries you alos need to chose the type of investment (in term of
industry) that you are considering. You can also treat this as given. @Given’ for the
purposes of this assignment means that you can chose it, but you discuss it as if
someone else (e.g. senior management) have already selected these option and you are
simply asked to provide a report within these parameters.
Marking:
For the report marks will be awarded for:
– A clear and brief introduction saying what the report is setting out to achieve.
– Identifying a number of risks which are relevant to your company’s decision to
set up operations or not.
– Giving evidence to support your opinions.
– Clarity of expression.
– Consistency of opinion throughout the report.
– A clear and sensible structure to the report.
Your report should be between 2,000 and 2,500 words in length
