Description: Critical thinking is the disciplined art of ensuring that you use the best thinking you are
capable of in any set of circumstances. The general goal of thinking is to “figure out the lay of the land” in
any situation we are in. We all have multiple choices to make. We need the best information to make the
best choices. (1)
This is a kind of personal experience essay. Please write a example not really far from me. I am a female,

Essay Question:
The above quote is taken from Dr. Linda Eller and Dr. Richard Paul’s text, Learning the Art of Critical

sound thinking . . . poor thinking . . . causes problems, wastes time and energy, [causes] frustration and
pain.”
In this essay of 3-5 pages, describe a time in your life when you had to make a difficult decision. Describe
your thought process: what you thought, how you planned, what you took into consideration as you
planned, and the results. Then describe what you learned in the process about yourself, what you have
changed about yourself or improved as a result.
You are writing a narrative analysis. Use the writing prompt as a guide of points to consider as you draft
your essay.
