Assignment 1- Focuses on aspects of learning outcomes 1, 2, 5 and 6

The first assignment is a report that requires students to consider both internal and external influences on learning and talent development activity within organisations.  Your answer will consider the organisational context, national and international issues and link into the overarching strategy of the organisation.

 

The report format is adopted to encourage students to research effectively and communicate effectively in a format that would be acceptable in their professional role.

 

Organisational Report (50%)

Task:

 

You are the learning and development specialist for your organisation and you have been asked to prepare a report for the Head of HR which outlines the internal and external factors which influence learning and talent development initiatives in organisations.  In doing this, you need to make recommendations for successful implementation of learning and talent development.

 

 

 

Assessment Criteria:

 

1          Responds to set question

 

2          Demonstrates knowledge of and understanding via application of, relevant theory and models, accessed via appropriate literature sources.

 

3          Provides an evaluation of theory and practice, outlining similarities and differences and forming reasoned conclusions based on the evidence presented through citation and/or experience.

 

4          Accurate and relevant referencing and references list

 

5          Writes in appropriate style, and presents effectively and at appropriate level (Level 7)
